MotoSix MiniMoto Academy FAQ

Is this a Supermoto school?
No.This is a school that teaches roadrace techniques. We use convenient motorcycles that behave in similar ways to larger roadrace motorcycles, but we do not ride them like motocross bikes; we ride them like roadracers.
Will you teach me how to "back it in"?
No. There are some fantastic schools that work on sliding techniques, but this is not one of them. We concentrate on line selection, body position, steering and braking techniques.
What type of previous experience do I need?
These courses are not intended to be an introduction to motorcycle riding, and we suggest you take a MSF course to start your motorcycling adventure. These courses should be viewed as an introduction to motorcycle roadracing, and will be tailored to each student(s) ability at the time of the school. When registering, please answer as honestly as possible regarding your riding and racing experience so we can match students and instructors best.

How many students per instructor?
We only instruct in groups of 2 students. Most times we will have 2 instructors, meaning you will have plenty of direct one on one instruction. In some cases where there is only one student, there will still be 2 instructors available!
Where are the courses held?
All riding courses will be held at IMI Karting faclity in Erie Colorado.
A Google map link may be found here.
The Roadracing 102 2 hour course may also be held on on Saturday evenings in conjunction with select MRA events at Pueblo Motorsports Park. Please consult the schedule for more information.

Is there an age limit for students?
Students must be at least 16 years of age. Those under 18 must have a parent or guardian sign the appropriate forms on the students behalf.
Students under the age of 16 interested in taking a course should have a parent contact dave@MotoSix.com briefly outlining the potential students racing goals and past accomplishments.

What do I need to bring to the academy?
For riding schools, you are required to bring your own safety equipment. This includes:
- Sturdy leather boots that cover the ankle
- Leather gloves that cover the wrist
- An undamaged helmet with a visor or goggles
- We prefer a 1-piece leather racing suit, but two piece suits or kevlar jackets and pants are acceptable
- Motocross gear is acceptable AS LONG AS you have elbow and knee protection.
- For advanced riders, we suggest pants that accept knee pucks (because dragging knee is fun!)
For riding classes, lunch will be provided. Please note any special dietary restrictions at the time of registration.

Can I ride my own motorcycle?
No, not for the standard courses. We have specifically setup the MiniMoto bikes for this task to ensure a consistent training environment. If you have your own motorcycle and would like private instruction at the IMI karting facility, please contact dave@MotoSix.com to schedule a private lesson with any one of our instructors.

What happens if I crash?
We hope you do not! But, if you do, it is a great thing that Supermoto bikes are sturdy and crash well. That said, if Epic Motorsports deems the crash damage to exceed $250, the student will be responsible for parts replacement up to a limit $500. The best practice is to have a good time and don't crash!
Does this school count towards an MRA racing license?
Not yet, but if there is enough interest a class of that nature it could be arranged. Please contact dave@MotoSix.com to arrange one of these schools.
